We were met by our lovely waiter (maybe the owner? which led us to our table (we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while and were concerned about the reasons why it might be empty at lunch time . All our worries went away, our waiter was great and the food was just scrumptious. Portions were generous and everyone at the table enjoyed their meal very much. Fish and veggies are fresh. The highlight on the table was the traditional Frango da Pucara.
A group of school friends from the 1970s today residing in places like Abrantes, Almeirim, Lisboa, Alcobaca and USA came together to catch up with one another, remember old times, and taste the absolutely best Frango da Pucara! Great service and excellent food. Perfect restaurant choice for our get together!
Large seating capacity, ok in the summer months but best avoided in the winter. Even the waiter stands around in coat and scarve. Food is inexpensive but gets cold very quickly. Often used at lunchtimes by coach tours. Cheap and soulless.
Very pleasant staff, good home made food and reasonably priced. Pavement tables are right in front of the monastery. Would eat there again.
Good and tasty home made portuguese food. The room is bit dark, but is really cozy. The frango na pucara is a typical dish and, in this place it 's really good. The don 't have any local typical dessert so we didn 't taste them... overall is Recommended
