Casa Dos Doces Conventuais - Alcobaca

This Pastelaria was the perfect ending to our visit to the Alcobaca monestary! The sweets were delicious, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Though the sweet lady who helped us did not speak English, she managed to convey how all the sweets were made, and which ones were her favorite and that she recommended. I only wish we could have tried every one of the things they offered!

Pastelaria Casa dos Doces Conventuais Alcobaça is an exceptional place, run by a sweet/ beautiful lady. All ingredients are natural, no shortcut, no compromise, the sweets are hidden treasures recepies from cistercian monks, (some gluten-free or diary free). A am indefinitely definitely conquered! Bom continuaçao!!!!

We have visited this shop a few times. I’ve found by watching, that because we are tourists, we are charged more for everything we order. On top of that, even the residents are charged more here than any other place. I was also served bottled and canned drinks in different times that were a month or more expired. On top of that, when I asked orange juice, the woman pulled out an orange with mold on it, which she just wiped off then used anyway. I was outraged. I can’t imagine how old some of the pastries must be. I will never be going to this shop ever again.

Uma surpresa agradável ao lado do mosteiro. Um atendimento simpático e acolhedor. Os doces são de comer e chorar por mais! Acabámos por levar vários doces para casa, porque não conseguíamos escolher apenas um
