The lovely staff and owner greeted us and looked after everything. I asked the younger staff about their boss and they loved working there and it shows. So the food. Pictures tell a better story. It was delicious and generous. Chilli prawns and lamb Tikka Masala. So support this local restaurant with the lovely staff and brilliant food.
Best Indian food in South Australia by far, the service was excellent and prices are very good, do your self a favour and try this restaurant soon, it is a hidden gem.
Don't be afraid of chips and curry. So normally I would be worried about a restaurant that mixes its cuisines. In this case fish and chips and northern Indian food. But I am happy to report that both these menus live harmoniously in this ocean-side cafe. This is particularly good if you have a family with young kids who are still coming to terms with why food that burns your mouth is something adults like. And added bonus is they understand gluten free and nut allegries/intolerances and can modify all their dishes (Indian and western) to suit, plus you can choose the level of chilli in every dish. We ordered a butter chicken that was made without cashew for us and it was superb. Other favourite dishes like lamb rogan josh and chicken vindaloo were all delicious, and the kadai prawns were plump and fresh. Fresh naan, rice, and cold Kingfisher beer after a day in the surf and everyone went home happy. The speed of service will be an issue if it's a busy time as tonnes of food was going out the door as take away, so do give them time you will be rewarded with this cafe. Price is very reasonable as well.
The authenticity and flavour of the curries here are AMAZING. We have been to many many Indian restaurants, and indeed to India several times, and the food at this restaurant in little old Aldinga is top notch. We had the aloo mattar and Navrittan korma, and a serve of saffron rice. The rice was done perfectly. The two curries were so tasty and had rich and complex flavours. They were quite spicy which we liked but the menu pre warned us of this! They have many vegan options (including the rotis. We had takeaway, which was ready in 10 mins. Lots of people came in and out to collect their meals, and two families were dining in (on a Wednesday night. I really hope this place succeeds. Their renovations (new floors, paint job and new counter and new furnishings/decor are pleasant, clean and warm. We were served by a nice woman, and then subsequently by a sweet but slightly less on the ball boy (would have been 12 or so years old. He didn't instill too much confidence in me, but I was very happily surprised by the excellent meal and speed of preparation! Fabulous place. Will definitely be back.
The Indian food here is awesome! Authentic, tasty and portion sizes are generous. They also offer every curry as hot or as mild as you like which I love. The decor is fine considering you are only paying $12 or so for a main meal.. I had takeaway but wouldn't turn my nose up at eating in. definitely will be returning!!
