Contribuisci feedbackI was unfortunately very disappointed with the lack of service we experienced. We waited over an hour for our food, and when we finally inquired about how much longer it would take because our four young children were hungry and becoming restless, we were still left in the dark. We tried to be understanding about any issues in the kitchen, but after waiting alongside several other patrons, we ultimately decided to leave and find another option. After reading some other reviews, it seems this has been a recurring problem. I really hope they can resolve these issues soon, as Aledo is a small town and word travels fast, which could harm their business.
The food in Aledo is incredible, and the customer service is outstanding!
I ordered the St. Patrick’s Day special to-go, which was decent but nothing to write home about; I can be lenient with takeout, though. I decided to return for brunch with my mom and sister, thinking it would be a fun outing. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. The mimosa flights were a letdown. Our server struggled to remember the flavors and even mentioned some that weren’t listed on the menu. When we finally got them, I saw something floating in one of the glasses – not a great first impression. The flavors were underwhelming, and I could barely taste any champagne. We asked for butter or jelly for our English muffins, but they never arrived. When I inquired about it, the server, with a sarcastic attitude, simply shrugged and admitted she forgot. She also responded to our orders with snarky comments. I appreciate humor, but it’s tough to enjoy when the service is lacking and the food is only mediocre at best. As for the ambiance, it felt disorganized; it seemed like they couldn’t decide on a specific style. If they’re aiming for an upscale, modern farmhouse vibe, it doesn’t help to see the soda dispenser, kitchen, and dishes all in view. Overall, I was left wishing for a better experience.
I wish I had taken a photo of my plate (sorry about that), but I was really disappointed with the shrimp and grits. It didn’t look anything like the pictures I had seen in previous reviews (served in a cast-iron skillet and looking cheesy), and it tasted terrible. This was definitely not shrimp and grits; the “grits” tasted more like couscous and were far too spicy for me to enjoy (and I usually handle spice well). On the bright side, the salsa was tasty! However, I wasn’t a fan of the queso—it had a Velveeta-like consistency. The cocktails were extremely strong and not enjoyable at all. I think I ordered the Bees Knees (lavender), and it just tasted like straight gin. I didn’t like the one with jalapeño either. I’ve been here before and enjoyed a burger, which I thought was pretty good, but this shrimp and grits definitely need a makeover along with the cocktails.
A hidden gem in Aledo, I had an enjoyable meal here! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
