The pastries are served cold, but there were warm sandwich/pizza options that also looked delicious if you wanted a warm meal. While we were eating, they magically gave us free hummus and pita on the house! The hummus is very tahini-forward, which I love (we ended up buying a hub to take home as well).
The Falafel sandwiches and the pastries are incredibly delicious. Like a best kept secret on the west end, if I wasn't living so close to it I might never stopped in to try it. I've had their Turkish coffee as well, but I'm not sure what good coffee taste like so I'm not gonna front. I did feel like a ten year old sipping a tea cup but I'm thinking that's part of the Experience. I dunno, lemme go run this by no one and get back to you. Food A though.
This is the only place I know of where I can get authentic Greek cheeses like Kefalotyri and other Greek ingredients. Most other Mediterranean shops will have Turkish and Persian products. If you are in need of authentic Greek products, this is the place to come to. Also, there is a kitchen counter for to go foods. The menu looks pretty good. I will have to give it a try another time. The selection of imports from the Mediterranean is great, and the staff is very friendly.
Wonderful place. The tabouli is the best I've had. The stuffed cabbage is delicious. The Syrian bread is authentic. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've been coming here for 30 years and the food is always reliably great!
Great little Mediterranean bakery located in the West End Village shopping center. I love their fresh pita, baked goods, and prepackaged, refrigerated foods. The cashier also wiped down the checkout conveyor belt between orders. Happy to have this West End neighborhood gem!
