The service was quite subpar at the bar….they seem to have a preference in their customer base, based on my experience and observations while there…I would consider returning for the food though or honestly just get takeout next time to avoid very iffy customer service.
A local favorite for a reason. I had only been to the sister thai in Fairfax and it’s one of my top thai places in NoVA. Spring roll is so refreshing and the dipping sauce makes it even better. First time getting the bikini shrimp and it did not disappoint. Pad Thai is a classic staple at sisters! Dessert was a great finish to our meal. I love that the place is connected to the magnolia bakery!
Now, let's talk about the food: The Garden Rolls were unlike any I've had before, but I enjoyed them. The accompanying sauce wasn't the typical thick peanut butter sauce, but it had a wonderful flavor. The Crispy Spring Rolls had a satisfying crunch—likely from the cabbage or whatever filling they used—and they were quite refreshing. My friend really enjoyed the Sisters Fried Rice as well, mentioning that the addition of pineapple added a delightful touch and made it very savory. The Crispy Wontons were fried to perfection, but I found myself wishing for a different sauce; I can't quite pinpoint what it was missing. As for the Pad Thai with Shrimp, it was actually quite tasty! I was concerned that the bean sprouts would overpower the dish, but they didn't. It could have used a bit more seasoning or an additional sauce, but overall, the food was enjoyable. I would love to return and explore more of the menu and try out their bakery!
I visited Sisters Thai on a rainy day since the weather was unpleasant. I had previously been to the Sisters Thai location in Cabin John and really enjoyed the food there, so I was excited to try this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance; the restaurant features a bar and is beautifully decorated. There’s one more Sisters Thai restaurant I’m planning to visit in Alexandria. While the chive dumplings were a bit expensive, the chicken fried rice was reasonably priced and definitely worth it. The atmosphere was somewhat loud, but the service was excellent.
Food is good and the menu, the environment is cute too. This is definitely a busy restaurant and you will have that feel that “you better finish your meals and get out for the next customers.” If you want to relax, go to the cafe next door!
