So on Monday, we ordered via Ubereats from Vaso's Kitchen (Old Town Alexandria), which was one of the best food decisions ever. Am definitely not a pizza person, but their original homemade Greek-style pizza sold me! It was fresh, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Everything else we ordered, from the hummus and pita bread to the Spanakotiropita (Spinach and Feta Cheese
When my friend I first entered Vaso?s, it smelled divine and we were excited to eat. Unfortunately, when we sat down we could hear what I?m assuming is the owner or manager yelling at his kitchen staff to ?shut up? continuously with other arguments sprinkled in. It also took over an hour to get the greek sampler which was a mix of veggies, feta, hummus then another hour to get our entrees. I wish I had listened to our server when she mentioned a specific menu item was
Very disappointed in this restaurant. First they reported we did not show to OpenTable. The food was ok. I had the Veal Piccata and my wife had the Filet of Flounder. Both basic piccata dishes. The real disappointment was the side, basically canned peas in tomato sauce. The restaurant is a bit run down and off the charts loud.
Great place, cozy but with an upscale vibe. Great food but not to many options when it comes to your cleaner Mediterranean foods as everything is with flour and sautéed. BUT the amount of flour is very minimum and not like a hard shell, at least not on my fish.
The food is tasty, and the service is also good. However, USD 38 each for the scallop pasta only featured two medium size scallops and champignons (not even porcinis), and the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat which as you can see were tiny, was exorbitant! Yes I understand inflation blah blah blah but this isn't even a fancy place. It's super casual. I definitely won't be back just cos of the ridiculous pricing vs what you get for their mains.
