La Ventilla - Alhaurín el Grande

This restaurant has a lot going for it, but unfortunately its not the food. As part of the Alhaurin Golf complex it is located in a prime site with lovely indoor and outdoor tables. The wine list is excellent and the decor is very high end. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food did not match our expectations. My lasagne was soggy and tasted like it had just been selected off a supermarket frozen shelf. In fact I would suggest that it did come from supermarket.There was no indication that a chef had put it together. My wife had the lamb chops which while tasty were few in number and served cold. If we hadn't ordered a plate of chips we probably would have starved. We will be back, but not for the food.

Fantastic meal. We had dinner at La Ventilla every night during our stay at Alhaurin Hotel and it was simply fantastic. Lovely food and great service.

I took a look at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and made two reservations which the delightful young lady wrote in the book. I came firstly with my sister and had a pleasant evening , served by the same lady on a busy terrace and was very happy. It was my husbands first night here and I really wanted him to enjoy it as much as I had ..... We arrived and the tables outside were not laid , there wasn't one laid for my reservation . The young lady was not there , a waiter was on duty. He eventually laid the table , not very well as cutlery wasn't laid correctly and my husbands place was dirty as were the glasses, they looked cloudy . Several items on the menu seemed to be unavailable . There was a big buffet inside for a local football team and I am convinced that we were given food from there as our fool was cool in temperature and very dry, it was all really disappointing . We didn't get any nice bread as we did on my first visit , 3 dry little pieces of French bread and some equally dry Manchego cheese with our starter for some reason.....clearly from the buffet also. The waiter was giving all his attention inside and we waited and waited and eventually I had to go and find him to get our bill. I was annoyed and embarrassed and my husband was less than impressed . He really was not very pleasant to us most of the evening . It's such a shame as I was really hoping it would have been an enjoyable evening but it wasn't . The book was open at the previous day I noticed on my way out.......

El sitio está de 10, y más si hace solecico. Los camareros súper agradables. La comida está a un precio muy asequible y la verdad que habiendo probado ya varias cosas, todo está muy bueno. 10/10.

Raciones grandes. Las ensaladas muy ricas! Esta en un sitio estratégico para los desplazamientos por la zona Servicio siempre impecable
