Saona Alfonso X El Sabio - Alicante

Loved this restaurant, we just came across it when we were looking to visit the Central Market at lunchtime, the buzz of Spanish people having conversations when we first went in was amazing, when we discovered the menu was a 3 course for €11.95 we were surprised but went with it thinking this can’t be good Luckily it was the opposite, the menu is fab, the food was really great and the service was good too

Lovely variety and choice of dishes within the degustation menu. Every course was delicious and for such good quality of food the price was very reasonable! I was particularly impressed with the Verdejo house wine …the best I had tasted during my weeks stay at the cheapest price. In fact I would love to know the name of it to try and source in the Uk! Overall very impressed and will make sure I visit a few times on my next trip to Alicante!

Servicio pésimo y muy mal educados. Solomillo de pollo y patatas crudas. Las raciones son pequeñas. Todo tiene lácteo. No se puede cambiar la comanda aunque solo hayan pasado 2 minutos. No pongo 0 estrellas por que no se puede, la profesión de hostelería no es para esta gente. Awful service and very rude. Raw chicken tenderloin and potatoes. Small rations. All dishes have lactose. We were not allowed to change the order after only 2 minutes had passed. I do not give them 0 stars because I can't, the profession of hospitality is not for this people.

We had the noche menu at 14€ and it was fantastic. The flavours were great, and the sauces perfectly complimented each dish.
