I currently spend a few days at Allahabad/Prayagraj and I visit the newly built el chico virtually every day! in the new avatar of el chico is the bakery, now called “The baking company”, accessible from steps on the road front. there is an asphalted road leading to the main entrance at the back of the building where you find elevators and a spacious staircase leading to several options, namely the bakery in the ground floor, a vegetarian food dish called veggie veg in the first floor, the new banquet hall in the second floor, the redone el chico restaurant in the third floor and the terrace above. with a lot of broth, baked, puddings and ice in a spacious, well-lit ambiente, the baking company retains the charm of its predecessor. cute veg, with a quite quirky decor, offers upmarket versions of popular street food from all over the country (I would recommend the dabheli, which is a Kutchi version of pao bhaji). in the third stage coming, nostalgie searcher (like this reviewer) could sue the loss of the original restaurants, but irrgivings are quickly set in rest when you see the beautiful sunlight ambiente of the new version. about, some of the employees of the original restaurant offer a sense of continentality and the menu offers more possibilities than ever. my wife and I were invited by old friends to the cozy Sunday dinner. after a lot of salads and appetizers we all redesigned, we had a delicious dal with hot tandoori rotis – followed by gourmet ice creams in the bakery on the ground floor. Finally, the terrace, which offers an excellent view of the surroundings, offers a great place for private meeting. thanks to the heatings that are designed by the management, the terrace is also a cozy place to dinner, even in December. I look forward to my next visit to prayagraj.
This restaurant was a saving grace after our disastrous experience at Hotel Samrat. Conveniently located in Civil Lines, it has been a family favorite for generations. They offer delicious brunches, snacks, coffee, and amazing bakery items. The staff is wonderful and I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Prayagraj.
It is renovated look modern they serve with love. had pudding after 3 decades but taste was even better it seems executive cook asks most guests after feedback terrace is the place to organize party and eating service is exemplary. will...definitely visit her next year
We visited prayagraj after several years and el chico has changed a lot. it is now a place with several etagens, the whole ground now the bakery. the restaurant opens around 19 clock to dinner and soon all tables are taken. we had. grilled chicken and baked vegetables, both delicious. the bakery has excellent cakes and other tasty as well as fresh sandwiches. a place worth a visit.
This restaurant in Allahabad (Prayagraj) is known for being one of the priciest establishments in the city, if not the most expensive. They offer a variety of exotic dishes such as sushi and prawns, attracting the elite crowd of Allahabad. The high prices on their menu may be justified by their clientele. I would suggest dining here only if you are looking to indulge in something unique and different. Otherwise, be prepared to spend a significant amount of money.
