Like all others, they have increased their prices, but are still quite reasonable. We've just tried every pizza place in the area and that's the next one we found in NY style. But it's not a big compliment, because the pizza in the area is usually terrible. Their roles are great, and they offer a legit calzone with Ricotta (although I usually order my with extra. Their dining area is tight, I wish they had a little more space inside, but their location is pretty convenient, we usually get the food to go.
Birthday dinner. At 5:30. No problems sitting. Shortly after we had been there, the dinner met and all the tables filled. Order fried Calamari $10.99), filled mushrooms $9.99) and Joe's salad $7.99) for appetizers. All were fair with decent portion sizes. Then we had two XL pizzas for our party of six. The XL 18 Joe's Special $20.99) and XL 18 Hawaiian $20.99) were a lot for everyone. Only one recommendation would be for trying to be hotter so that the crust is crispy instead of limp and soggy. Service was standard, although everyone was friendly and did their best to be attentive. If you are looking for Italy.
I don't know why it took so long to get water. I think it's easy to fill three cups with water. Maybe the waitress was busy chatting in the kitchen that knows. It felt at least 15 minutes and there was hardly anyone there. Two more tables. Everything took a long time. My chicken was tough. I'm not coming back here. I was cleaned out because it's close to our house and it's our goal.
Joe's Italian Bistro is a local Italian diner that fits the stereotypical strip shopping center Americanized version of Italian food. The food is pretty decent. When my daughter and I had a regular weekday dinner there, there were four older ladies who came together and talked about her life and her family (I tried not to eavesdrop...but they spoke very clearly to my table)... what really is what it is about in a restaurant (joint experiences about meals). With regard to our meal, the pizza is quite good (I have the anchovy... which is normally not served in other facilities), although not unforgettable. My daughter thought her baby part of the lasagna was delicious. Overall, it is a nice place to go when you live in Allen and want something local and Italian as well as something else than Olive Garden.
Absolutely loved this place. It?s a hometown small non chain pizza and Italian food eatery. The service was great and they were very quick. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. We will be coming back again with the family.
