Lakeside Cafe - Allerthorpe

Beautiful hiking trails around a large lake that has to enjoy various water sports in the summer. there is also a caravan with tourers, residential and some marvels. we visited in the wintertime, but enjoyed the sea way well wrapped, followed by a visit to the caffe, where I had the suppe of the day with roasted roll and coffee. everything was beautifully presented very tasty and efficiently served. .will see again in the summer when there is more!

A very calm, relaxing place not far from york .... perfect for a semi wild swim

Well equipped and scenic facility. Changing hut was very basic but toilet block was modern and clean. We went mid week and it was quiet except for a few people walking around the lake or in the cafe. Definitely go again for more paddle boarding and maybe try other activities.

Allerthorpe is very fun place which is ideal for all types of activities for families. The lake is inviting as also the food on offer which is good value in terms of quality. As a cyclist they are inviting and we use it at various times in the year. Go on try outdoor swimming.....
