This is a nice basic place for lunch. Food typical Canadian, plain but well made. The homemade baked goods are a distinct plus. We had large club sandwiches with fresh white bread and nice sliced turkey. We skipped dessert but there was a fine selection of pies, squares and tarts. Restaurant is spotlessly clean and the wait staff are very friendly. Don't let the road construction stop you from going.
I had often seen cars and bikes parked here and never stopped in since it is pretty close to home. I decided to skip breakfast at home and check this place out. I am glad I did. Pretty typical breakfast offerings but with very fresh ingredients and home made bread. Breakfast was great all in all. The building is dated and on a definite slant but it didn't detract from the service or the quality of food. I would certainly stop in here again for a hearty breakfast.
When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff. You can see right into the very clean, well organized and busy kitchen. This family run restaurant located in the village of Alma is a must stop for all those weekend road warriors traveling the country roads in North Wellington County. You can still expect a great home cooked meal, followed by amazing pies, and home baked items. You will be telling your friends, and coming back for more...
Stopped here for lunch, had a Clubhouse and Fries, food was fast and really good, portion size was generous but managable. Service was fast and friendly, definately going to be returning as often as possible!
