El Balate - Almuñécar

We found El Balate by accident whilst exploring the area. On our first visit we just had a salad and drinks but were enticed back by seeing the food being served to other customers and the menu. Sitting on the quiet beach, next to the sea, was a treat. All the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is lovely, fresh, well presented and sensibly priced. This is definitely a place we will return to when in the area again.

Had a great tasty lunch at El Balate today. Attentive and friendly service, fantastic location on the edge of the beach and a menu that is varied enough to keep everyone happy. Thank you!

Lovely staff! Coffee is great. Try the three chocolat cake which is house made. Its amazing. Prices are reasonable

Fuimos a comer por estar al lado de la playa donde nos encontrábamos y resultó siendo un éxito. Mi mujer e hija son locas por las sopas (incluso en Agosto) y disfrutaron e incluso repitieron la sopa de picadillo. Yo tomé gazpacho y estaba exquisito. Seguimos con un pescado a la brasa exquisito, muy fresco y a buen precio. El personal es agradable y nos trataron muy bien. Lo recomiendo

Situated opposite the Hotel Bahia Tropical in Almuñécar, this charming Chiringuito is right by the shoreline with views out to sea. Attentive service and food cooked to order. Good choices on the menu with something for everyone. Prices reasonable considering its location. Very good.
