Solera Wines, Inc. - Alton

This charming little spot is a perfect place to visit. You might be greeted by a friendly dog, enjoy fantastic entertainment, make new friends, and even have fun with some chalk art created by a playful teacher. The wine selection is displayed on a glass board, and you can also purchase a bottle to enjoy at a high-top table or one of the cozy lower chairs designed for conversation. I'm sure Mr. Bunbury would be delighted by both the location and the delicious offerings.

Solera is a fantastic way to kick off your evening in downtown Alton. This cozy and intimate wine bar offers a great selection and attentive service. It has quickly become my go-to spot for a glass of wine before heading to dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants. While Solera primarily focuses on wine, they also provide a variety of cheeses and meats to snack on as you sip. Additionally, they offer desserts, allowing you to wrap up your night in downtown Alton with a glass of wine paired with treats from a local bakery. After a temporary closure due to the pandemic, Solera is now fully operational again, and I highly recommend checking it out.

First of all, I love the atmosphere in this bar and everyone here is wonderful. On my next trip to Alton, I will definitely make it a point to return to this bar. Steve is an amazing bartender and incredibly knowledgeable.

NOT CLOSED!! What an awesome place! Chill atmosphere, with a great selection of wine. They also have a few craft beers on tap and bottled as well. Warm and inviting atmosphere. It's fancy, but not fancy. Check them out!
