Starting with a delightful salad with candied walnuts and cheese, then onto a mega burger with strips of bacon on top, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The big surprise was the incredible dessert of brownie covered in toasted marshmallow, vanilla ice cream and bacon. Omg, it was to die for! The Proprietor, Mark Poirier stopped at each table to ensure they were being properly taken care of. My one caveat is that you plan to make this a leisurely evening as you will not be rushed through your meal. Bottom line, check it out for yourself.
Not the best. The renovation is nice. I hear the Manhattan's are very good, and I was served a generous pour of wine. However, even though it was very crowded on the Friday night that a group of us went (6/7/2019), it was very noisy almost to the point where it was difficult to hear the person sitting next to you. Lots of hard surfaces; they really need to install some sound absorbing features. Several of us had the fish and chips. Very disappointing. The batter was a bit heavy and very greasy. Worse, the fist was mushy, not flaky as you'd expect of a fresh, well prepare haddock. I would bet it is frozen, and not expertly prepped and cooked. Based on my experience, I likely would not return and would not recommend The Lodge at Smith Point.
Really good food. I like the variety of the menu and the elevated quality. The area between Wolfeboro and Laconia (of traveling around the lake through Alton) is a wasteland for restaurants, until now. The prices sort of don't lend this place to being my go-to for a quick bite like I'd hoped, but it's nice if you have an occasion or can share a quick app. Get the burger, it has onion jam, garlic aioli, and candied bacon on it- I don't think I need to say more!
May be the best restaurant in the Winni area! The Lodge opened at the beginning of the year in the old William Tell Restaurant space, which had run its course, though it was a solid staple for years. They totally renovated the whole building over 6+ months, and did a fantastic job. Better/larger bar area, that is now separated nicely from the dining room, and a totally refurbished dining room. The bathrooms are new, fresh and clean. Top notch waitstaff and bar pros. The food is creative, plentiful, and priced right. Nice blend of offerings to suit all pocketbooks and palates. Well Done!! Our third or fourth time here. Went for dinner this time. We ordered the bibb salad, big enough to share, perfectly dressed and presented. The meat and cheese charcuterie board was, also, nicely presented and easily large enough to be shared by several, with a well-thought out pairing of cured meats, grilled onions, fruits and cheeses. The pappardelle with pesto salmon was to die for . Perfectly cooked pasta, blended with vegetables and a rustic sauce. Even though it was good size, I could have eaten two full servings because it was so delicious. The bartenders seem very experienced, like they 've been around top quality restaurants for years. Quality drink ingredients, with wide-ranging liquor choices, not just 1 or 2 choices for each. The service was quite good, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. Nice job Jonna. The owner was very present and active, helping out, and checking on staff and patrons throughout the night. Looking forward to our next visit.
I dined here on a weekend away. Very good food and excellent service. We Sat at the bar area. Lively friendly and warm. I recommend Rattlesnake peppers app. French onion soup. Lobster roll done right.
