Bayview Bistro - Altona

If I could rate 0, I would. I'm lost for a word. we came for Australian days as it was advertised that there would be a concert. so obviously they knew it would be done and they would think that management would suggest for the additional volume of customers. when we arrived, we agreed on the order for half an hour. they have not taken more than 15 orders throughout this time. extremely slow. that could be forgiven if we could actually end the order. when we came to the front surprise! no complete menu, only snacks! what by the way, they have a choice of 5 dingen, one is a bowl chips. absolutely! no communication, no indication of not telling food after 2.30, no reflection on people who make up half an hour. why weren't enough chefs put on? we just walked out! the biggest waste of time. will never come back!

Staff treat visitors like dirt. We were scowled at and spoken down to when we questioned the need to sign in. Not something we have done visiting a restaurant before. If she had been polite and explained it was policy that would be fine. However the club manager I believe, had an attitude that made you feel like nothing.Then a whole new drama in the restaurant. They had forgotten a meal dispite reminding them numerous times.By the time they put the food ,almost an hour after ordering on the table the rest had already eaten.We expressed our annoyance at the time. And discussed a refund upon leaving.Which again due to rude staff become a huge drama.The only honest server was the younger one in the restaurant who admitted our meal had been forgotten despite being on the original docket.We will NOT be back here.You need to put your staff in some kind of training.

What a terrible experienceThe staff were dreadful⦁ Upon arrival the receptionist was very abrupt while telling us that we have to sign in (I respect their policy, however, I do not appreciate the other members of my party being glared at and talked down to).⦁ When we were being served, the waitress/server did not give us any eye contact.⦁ All but one of our members were already eating our meals believing that the meal of the other member of our party was going to arrive moments later, however, it took 45 MINUTES for the meal to arrive. We had went to get a refund for this specific meal. They tried to argue that they were not able to give us a refund because, we've already began the meal. We explained that the rest of the table had finished eating, they tried to argue that we were still eating; we were picking at the side salads.Only one staff member had the decency to admit that the cook had forgotten to cook it, then another staff member had the audacity to tell us that the cook didn't forget. We did get that part refunded, eventually.The food was mediocre at best⦁ This is including the dish listed above⦁ the ribs were bland⦁ The Tomato Relish on the burger was actually Pasta Sauce, I could taste the garlicWE DEFINITELY WONT BE RETURNING

Great food, great service, family friendly relaxed atmosphere, nice little playground for the kids
