My wife and I were planning a day trip and wanted to eat somewhere with outside dining, and decided to try the Back Porch. I really like the look of the place, kind of weathered and rambling. We were greeted warmly and had the pick of tables as we were the first ones in just a few minutes after opening. The restaurant has four dining areas, one when you first walk in, another close to the outside door (where we wound up sitting due to extremely hot weather that day), an outside area with view of the water, and another directly by the water. We both ordered the baskets, which come with your choice of a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, and desert...all for less than $9. My special of the day; a turkey/brie/apple sandwich was delicious and my wife enjoyed her chicken salad...and really liked the cole slaw with blue cheese. The antique shop was closed for the Summer but we enjoyed exploring the Garden Shop....not much in the way of plants for sale but full of cool garden decorations tucked away in the meandering paths through the area. This a great place for a different dining experience and we will definitely return

Awesome! Always fun and I bring all of my out of town visitors there! Food is homemade and delicious! Something for everyone!!
What a fun place to go for lunch..was not sure what to expect when we went but thoroughly enjoyed both the lunch and the atmosphere. Our lunch was a four course..soup, salad, sandwich and dessert for under $9.00. My turkey berry sandwich on a soft, fresh croissant was delicious, as was the creamy vegetable soup. All items are served together in a picnic “basket”...we ate outside on the deck where great breeze kept us comfortable on a hot day. Shopping in the gift and antique stores was great fun as well. We will definitely return before we leave the area.
