The Whistle Stop - Altoona

I like this place, but the bartender on Wednesday and Thursday (Eric) is out of line and treats everyone like they are in daycare. He also gets too involved in everyone's business. I wasn't drunk or asked to leave, but watching him interact with other patrons was terrible. When he walked away, people would roll their eyes, shake their heads, and raise their arms in disbelief. I gave it four stars because he's my only problem. None of the other bartenders act like this. I met them all and found them all to be friendly. I won't be stopping in on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 or 2 pm till 7 pm. I noticed he doesn't work many hours, and I think I know why. PS. Jen is a sweetheart.

Sue is fantastic. The drinks come quickly and she won't tolerate any troublemakers.

I stop by this restaurant 1 or 2 times a week after work in the morning. Gregg and his wife are wonderful hosts. The regulars who come in the morning are there almost every day. They have a nice variety of draft beers, including Reds Apple Ale, at good prices. The beer is cold and the bar food is good. What more could you ask for? Open Early. Closes late. Six pack shop with a great selection. Diverse age group. Pool table and dartboard.Karaoke Mondays and some Saturdays. Safe environment.Lots of parking.Thursday wing day!!! Friday happy hour 4-6 and 7-9!
