Al Dente - Alvor

It looked good on passing so we went in, very helpful accommodating staff who got us in. It was well worth it too the food was excellent the staff were very helpful and quick don’t hesitate to go and try it really is well worth it.

A little confusing at the start as we weren’t in the book, we had the confirmation but that didn’t at first look good enough. After some discussion we got the table we had booked. I think a little begrudgingly and initially the staff weren’t great. It improved,food wise we had aranchini, garlic bread, pappardelle, prawns, lasagne and spinach. All good. Nice atmosphere in the end.

Good selection of food and drinks on the menu. Tasty food and nice modern decor. Staff is pleasant and professional. This place is also kids friendly.

This is a bit of a mixed review as we visited three times during our stay. This is a very busy restaurant so definitely book in advance if you want to go. Our first visit we waited 20 minutes for a table as we had no booking. This was expected so not a problem. It was just my 7 year old daughter and I so we waited at the bar and she loved watching all the cocktails being made. We were shown to our table, order taken and food served quickly. I had the Cacio e Pepe which was delicious and my daughter had a Mickey Mouse shaped pizza. Lovely touch for children! We finished with a limoncello and an ice cream. Food, wine and service perfect! We booked a table for our next visit and it was ready when we arrived. We ordered mozzarella sticks to share (delicious), Quatro Formaggi Capelli pasta and the Mickey Mouse pizza again. The pasta is definitely worth a trip alone. It was amazing. Service was a bit slow and unattentive but I hoped it was just due to a busy night. I was proven wrong on our last visit. We ordered the same food again which was as good as before but service was terrible. I couldn't get anyone's attention to order dessert or get the bill. Our empty plates were left on the table for a very long time. I asked for another glass of wine which was completely forgotten about until I had to ask for a third time. There are a lot of waiting staff working here but on that visit none of them seemed to be paying attention to anyone. There were a few tables around us who were also complaining of the same experience. This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and I understand people sometimes like to have long dinners but I think the service just needs to be sharpened up a bit. We will try again on our next visit to Alvor but won't be back if we have the same experience again.

Had the best meal/time at this place! Went for dinner with friends and will never forget my experience at this place. The food was amazing and the service as well. Their menu is great. Lots of choices and none disappointed. Cannot wait to go back
