Sensi - AMALFI

Sono in ritardo per controllare Sensi. In breve, l'esperienza alimentare di una vita era. Sono stato fortunato ad essere trattato con un'esperienza Michelin qualche settimana dopo il mio pasto. Perche'? Sensi era da questo mondo - solo che il buono e gli altri 9 piatti del corso non poteva confrontare! La ciliegina sulla torta era l'accoppiamento del vino. Se ti piace il vino, non andare qui senza l'accoppiamento del vino, è necessario ordinare l'accoppiamento, è stato fenomenale. Non credo che un ristorante negli Stati Uniti potrebbe anche avvicinarsi all'abbinamento del vino che avevamo con il nostro pasto. Ho festeggiato il mio decimo anniversario qui, e non dimenticherò mai la cura, la professionalità e l'arte del cibo e del vino a Sensi. Grazie per uno dei migliori pasti di una vita.

This hidden gem is hard to find which makes it better as it’s not busy. Up the small stairs before the Duomo we arrived at the restaurant. We were the first ones in for lunch and got our choice of seats on the outside balcony overlooking the sea. We shared the burrata to start which was amazing. For mains I had the linguine tomato with basil and garlic which was cooked perfectly. My gf had the linguine zucchini with The shrimps which were cooked to perfection also. The best thing by a long way was the baba de lizia dessert!! This is an absolute must!!! I’d say this was the nicest dessert I’ve ever had! A light lemon cake with lemon cream on top with light custard on the inside and caramel biscuit on the outside. Simply spectacular!! All the restaurants in amalfi are crammed in the main square but this has its own setting away from the loud streets. The best restaurant in amalfi for sure!

It’s clear that Sensi received its mention in the Michelin guide for making food look like art. Everything was presented beautifully, however this did not prevent Sensi from being the worst meal my husband and I had on our honeymoon, if not ever. If you don’t like lemons, don’t come here, everything has lemon. If you like lemons, don’t come here, they will ruin it for you forever. The food here was borderline inedible extremely fishy and if it wasn’t fishy then it tasted like a lemon pie. You don’t need your risotto to taste like pie. I considered leaving the meal early. Unfortunately, for the price and quality we would have much rather had 30 street sandwiches then come here again. Waste of 300 euros.
