Abuelo’s Mexican - Amarillo

First time we have been there. I'm from New Zealand but come to the US for a couple of months each year. This stop was on the end of a road trip we had to Arizona and New Mexico on the way back to Oklahoma. We had plenty of good Mexican food down there but this restaurant was far superior. Great food, great Margaritas and excellent service. I highly recommend.

Absolutely great food, worth the wait. Decor makes you feel like you're really in old Mexico. I want to give a shout out to the staff for hanging on to our debit card when we accidentally left it behind on the table. Honest staff on top of them being genuinely friendly and professional.

Excellent food! And the Dulce De Leche cheesecake is worth the calories!

I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, and of course, I had to indulge in some chips and salsa! I loved every bite and may have overdone it a little—LOL. I hadn't had Tex-Mex in a while, so it felt like a lovely treat. My daughter chose the shrimp and steak fajitas, which looked amazing, while my mom opted for a variety platter. My husband enjoyed a dish of shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms in a creamy sauce over fish. My sister got the pork tenderloins along with her enchilada dinner. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I had a fantastic time, and our server was exceptionally attentive and kind. They also did a great job accommodating two of us in wheelchairs. Overall, it was a wonderful evening out!
