Contribuisci feedbackI visited this restaurant on a quiet Monday evening and found that there were not many people there. We were seated but then seemed to be forgotten about by the staff, who were preoccupied with their phones. After waiting for 10 minutes, we decided to go to the bar to order drinks and finally got a waiter's attention. Once our food arrived, it was absolutely delicious and worth the initial wait. The waiter made up for their earlier mistake and the food made the whole experience worthwhile. The restaurant had a lovely setting with funky music playing in the background. I will definitely be returning during the day to enjoy the vibes, food, and drinks.
Great location. Great team. Good comfort food. Good prices. Nice casual ambience. Many surfboards for rent nearby, too.
The chef's special at this restaurant is the Masala dosa, and it truly lives up to its name. Even though we weren't very hungry, we decided to order one to share, but I could have easily eaten a whole one by myself. The price was reasonable at 1500 rupees, and the service was excellent. The setting on the beach added to the overall experience. However, the price of beer was a bit of a letdown, with a small can costing 650 rupees for only 375ml. It was possibly the most expensive beer we have come across in Sri Lanka.
I recently moved to Sri Lanka (Galle) and have been exploring the area. I have visited the Shack twice, once for lunch and once for a beer. During both visits, I had a relaxing experience with great service from a friendly team. The food we shared during lunch was fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable as well, so I will definitely be returning to the Shack multiple times in the future.
It's great to be back at the Shack and see that the quality and standards are just as good if not better than last time I was there,. The new masala dosa was perfect, for sure the best in Sri Lanka, and the chicken raman soup was also delicious!!..the staff here are excellent!! Thanks guys!!.. We had a fantastic afternoon with food and drinks . For sure my favourite place on the south coast, especially at this time of year in low season,.. You can even still surf out front!
