A brilliant friendly micro pub. If you want a great atmosphere and good quality local ale and Gin then this is the place to go. Only do a cheese board for food but they are all local cheeses and very tasty.

Arrived on time to be told we shouldnt have been able to make a booking and that there were no seats available for us, even though I made the booking 3 weeks prior and also confirmed the booking a few days before via text and email. We were told if we came back in an hour or so they would hold a table for us. We left and I tried calling the mobile number on their website 3 times, all with no answer after 45 minutes to inform them we were heading back over, we arrived after 1hr 5 minutes to again, be told there was no tables available and that the number I was calling was for someone who was in Alnwick?

We only drank here but the cheeses looked really good. Great gins and very pleasant service. Shame our table wasn’t ready but this was due to the booking form being taken away. Not the fault of the staff in charge. We like this little bar very much. Shame you don’t have tables outside but I suspect this is a council issue?

Always good to end up here after a day out. Thanks again.
