+39 Italian - Ames

There are so many delicious options on the menu. the cocktails, appetizers, entrees and eis were fantastic. the service was great. definitiw will go back when we are back in ames.

39 was not disappointed. we were happy on a date nite and managed to get reservation. sometimes is a last minute reservation it seems location not always get them in the book. we were entered and they had the table waiting for us. started with a bottle wein and with covid her selection is down and I understand the argumentation. regardless of this we had a wonderful chianti, followed by a wonderful meal. the server was very personal and has done an excellent work.

I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant, the setting is very nice on the inside. The problem is with their service, and probably management. The server seemed to be working hard, kitchen seemed to work hard, except they didn't run food out to tables, when we were there we saw drinks prepared at bar and sitting for 20 plus minutes, while there were up to 3 people behind bar not appearing to be doing anything. It seemed like the owners may have been working host stand, then wandered without helping. We watched food sit on the kitchen serving area for up to 30 minutes. It took us over an hour after ordering to get our food, which was varied. Fish was excellent, meatballs and pasta dishes cold, salads warm. I dislike bad reviews, I just wont go back though.

Always hospitable, delicious, and varied. +39 is a constant delight!

Our server, Nikki, was amazing! She checked in often but not so much that it was annoying. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful summer evening- patio area was beautiful and quiet.
