The employees constantly put out food that does not look appealing as if they expect us to eat it. . . And we know darn well the employees serving it wouldn't easy it themselves.
Very disappointed with the cleaning above at the buffet and the way the managers control the employees with no right to talk to nobody formally as students. The place is run with halal food and no kosher products available there. It is very difficult to find hardly any organic foods nor any really healthy food because of the quantity instead of the quantity. My two cents is: go to Subway or no Hy-Vee and eat at home(take the time to do so). Very unhappy people
Last semester the food was consistently not too bad. This semester, though it's rare to find anything worth eating. It's very apparent that there's been a decrease in quality and taste of the food. My friends and I have started going to Friley Windows for all meals during the week.
The dinner menu during the week tends to be less appealing than lunch, but it still features some decent options. Unfortunately, quality significantly drops on weekends. The lunch service often consists of mediocre breakfast items (which are probably not even good for cats), and dinner usually features basic options like chicken sandwiches, hot ham and cheese, or cheeseburgers. Additionally, the Asian and Mexican stations are closed on weekends, and most other campus dining facilities are also shut down, which results in long, slow-moving lines for subpar food, especially on Sunday evenings. While I understand that supply chain issues and staffing problems are affecting operations, I do hope for improvements once things return to normal. It's worth noting that the dining center serves over a thousand people during lunchtime on weekdays, making it challenging to find a place to sit. The ice machine also tends to be overloaded due to heavy use. One word of caution: steer clear of the shrimp! Several of my friends have experienced food poisoning after eating it. Despite these drawbacks, the UDCC remains my favorite dining center at ISU!
We have to cater to a huge number of students, so we prepare a massive amount of food. The quality may not always be top-notch, but as long as there's plenty to go around, everyone seems to be satisfied, right? The UDCC management is doing a great job. It’s definitely the busiest dining spot on campus, and the food is pretty good overall. The pizza is decent, though the crust is a bit thick—still, it's hard to go wrong with pizza!
