I understood with Covid-19 dinge would be different, but the restaurant had no atmosphere. hang some colors as in past, simple and cost-effective. the plastic blanket was disgusting dirty...ful with some broken plates. I guess the owner has to think that the guests would see the beautiful view of the water and not the deck. only a few eat all the time when we were there. restaurant open at 15:00 clock against the lunchtime on the website. we had to waste the time before the ferry that led us to the island/restaurant when we arrived at the dod at 1:30 a.m. and told us that we could not go by 3:00 a.m.! website also listed perch basket for $15, but if we arrived in restaurant, chalkboard listed price on $18 bar only. overpriced for cash dinner served in a polystyrene container with a side of cheap plastic utensils. it was okay, but pommes were crisp. waitress was good and efficient. also not worth $10 drive over as we were allowed to eat and then had to leave island. another Covid problem. apropos ferry, please note that island owners and boaters are always on board first in the waiting queue so that they may have a waiting time as we did. note to the owner: update their website with correct opening times and days. they were not even open on Thursday, before as stated before.
I needed to kill some time with my daughter in the area, so we went over to this restaurant. The ferry ride is nice. The view from the restaurant is amazing and, combined with the island-type music they play, you feel like you 're on vacation....However, this isn 't the first time I 've been to this place and it seems like they are not taking care of it. It 's dirty. The roof is covered in dead leaves and debris, there are cobwebs and nests in all the roof corners, the paint is peeling off the picket fence that makes up the perimeter, and there are weeds growing up through the pavers that make up the restaurant 'floor. ' The whole place needs a good powerwashing. The menu is very limited and the food is not very good as other reviewers have accurately noted.
My experience at the Boblo Beach House restaurant wasn’t great. The band was “ok” the food terrible. Very little selection and 1/2 of the menu wasn’t available. The view was beautiful at the marina. We travelled from Michigan to visit Boblo.
Dockage for the day is $10 plus you have to phone in to Canadian customs and 'self report ' your entry. Menu is 'very ' short order. ... Perch, Pickerel, Chicken, or Burgers. ... but good, plus a tiki style bar. Also, we had Friday night entertainment....Nice people and nice staff ... great sunset!
This restaurant is a short ferry ride across the Detroit river from Amherstburg, Ontario. Once on the former amusement park island (some unique buildings and ride components still visible), head to the north shore, marina restaurant for a pleasant atmosphere and good food. Limited menu...items are offset by good food and friendly staff.
