The Salty Dog - Amherstburg

The food we ordered was amazing! My husband is a big fan of calamari, and he declared this the BEST he has ever had! We really enjoyed our experience here. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that there was a strong "fishy" smell inside, likely due to the nearby oven cooking various seafood dishes.

Wonderful food with plenty of gluten-free options! I enjoyed the lobster and steak tacos, opting for lettuce wraps instead of the flour tortillas. The roasted beet salad was also a hit with my dining companion. Plus, they offer gluten-free pizza crust!

1. **Big Dill Pizza** - This was definitely a unique choice but absolutely incredible. 2. **Beef Tips** - The gorgonzola cheese in these tips elevated them to another level. 3. **Dynamite Shrimp** - The name really says it all; it was truly explosive in flavor. 4. **Arancini** - A classic dish done exceptionally well. Cheesy, saucy, and just delicious. 5. **Canadian Pizza** - A classic favorite for my kids, who devoured it. When you can sit in a restaurant and notice that every member of the team has the right blend of friendliness, professionalism, and culinary skill, it’s something to appreciate. I not only recognize it but want to celebrate it. I’ll definitely be back many times, and I hope others will give it a try too!

Great experience overall. We started with the Brussels sprout order which was shared between 6 people (very generous portion! . For my main I had the grilled veggie salad with the shrimp which was delicious. We also had a po boy, which overall was good butcould have used a better bun for the base. The blackened chicken, steak and salmon were the other mains ordered and were all ahuge hit. I definitely recommend!

Love this place in the summer! Servers are always very friendly and quick. During busy times, it may take a while to get seated, but they'll take your phone number and call/text you when your table is available. Head down the road and grab a drinkwhile you wait. The appetizers are amazing (Brussel sprouts Cajun beef tips are my faves! , and the food is excellent (I lovethe Lobster Mac, it is out-of-this-world-delicious!! . We've been many times and always really enjoyed it. They also have somenice cocktails, with the Kentucky Sweet Tea being my go-to-fave!
