I make it a point to dine here once or even twice during every trip I make to Cabo. I’ve been dining here since the opened their doors a few years back, when they didn’t really have many customers. I feel a personal connection to Picaro, and the setting, view and vibe is just incredible. Everything is so dang fresh, and so well thought out.
¡Altamente recomendable!
Update: we returned again last night and obviously had high expectations which were met. Still the best meal we've had in cabo, and worth the 30 min drive from our resort. We were surprised to find that they had changed their entire menu. I believe they rotate it with the seasons with whatever are freshest ingredients. Every dish had a unique taste that I haven't had elsewhere. The catch of the day (grouper) was cooked in a corn leaf with organic veggies and a delicious creamy soupy polenta-like carb (tastes way better than I can describe it). The giant shrimp with pasta was the highlight of the night. So so delicious we had to scoop up all the sauce. We tried the naan and raw beef appetizer which were both unique and tasty (although I wish they came out hotter). For dessert the seed pie was exactly what I dreamed it to be. (sunflower, almond and other seeds/nuts in a baked crust with goat cheese in the middle topped with ice cream) Perfection. Keep up the great work My favorite meal in Cabo in June (apologies for the late review) The food is spectacular here. Trust your server, he did not lead us wrong. We loved all the apps we tried, esp the pita/bread which we dipped into the sauce of the cactus. My main was the fish in the broth and it was delicious. My husband ordered the shrimp and risotto and loved it. I am still dreaming about the corn elote dessert. So unique and tasty. The only con is that it's so far away from everything, but that won't prevent us from returning.
If you are in Cabo, you have to make the trip to Picaro. We were fortunate to be staying close to this splendid restaurant. It is farm to table Italian inspired food. The restaurant looks like a villa in atop a Tuscan hill and overlooks the ocean. A perfect place to catch the most beautiful sunset. Staff was welcoming and attentive all night. The menu changes with the season as with all farm to table. They drink choices are original and just beautiful. Presentation is clearly a priority. We started with the eggplant naan appetizer. It was so delicious. Husband ordered a grilled grouper served over polenta. It was served beautiful corn husk boat. I ordered rigatoni tossed with pomodoro ndjua. I know it sounds simple, but it was beyond delicious. Pasta was PERFECTLY cooked. Both meals were bursting with flavor. Dessert was equally delightful. Profiterole was excellent. Do not miss out on this place!
My wife and I spent a week in San Jose del Cabo and Todos Santos and this was our best meal by far. The food was creative and delicious and the service was attentive and gracious. We loved the diversity of flavors, and of course the incredible view. Highly recommend!
