Day's Stonegrill 1870 Foodbar

We hebben heerlijk gegeten, een van de beste steaks van Amsterdam! De locatie is toegankelijk, de sfeer is leuk, het personeel is erg vriendelijk en vooral meedenkend en we kregen achteraf koffie van het huis. Al met al een geweldige ervaring, zeker een aanrader en voor ons een vaste plek om te dineren in Amsterdam! Als je van een goed stuk vlees houdt, is dit de place to be!

Heerlijke steak. Dit is mijn nieuwe favoriete restaurant!!

This is a new place at least a new owner and what looks like a new name. It offers a large variety of food options and was conveniently located near my hotel. While we were looking at the menu posted outside, a lady came out to see if we had any questions or wanted to sit inside or outside. We were looking for some place that we could sit down, relatively inexpensive, missing the pervasive smoke smell and and near our hotel. This place ticked all the boxes and we found it to be a solid 3 stars. Nothing we had was spectacular, but it wasn 't bad, either. They have egg dishes, pancakes, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and fried fish just to name a few. They also have soft drinks and Heineken. My coworker had the American cheeseburger which had cheese and pickle relish on it and was served with fries. He said it was fine. I ordered the pancake with ham and cheese. It was also fine, although a bit more overdone/dark on the middle and bottom than I prefer. Service wasn 't fast, but it seemed fine by Amsterdam standards. We paid just under 12€ each and we were no longer hungry when we left. Mission accomplished.

If I could give -5 stars I would. This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. We came in as a group 9 and were not given any tap water so we all had to share 4 small bottles. The food took way to long and all came at different points. The salad was a few shreds of lettuce and some mustard. Everything was very small portions and for the price was not expectable. The waiter had a terrible personality. I have never had such a bad experience. I would not even recommend this to a dog.

Superb food quality, one of the finest meals we have had as a family.
