L'ultimo - Amsterdam

The portions were quite small, and the food was just average. The interior is cozy, but the decor is quite appealing. If there were no other options available on the south side, we might consider returning. However, we visited during their second week of operation, which could have affected our experience.

I was not disappointed during either of my visits to L'ultimo. For my first meal, I ordered the eggplant, which was thinly sliced, lightly breaded, and generously topped with a delicious red sauce. On my second visit, I had the linguini with white clam sauce, which was the best I've had in quite some time. The dish featured fresh clams in a delightful olive oil, garlic, and parsley sauce — absolutely delicious! Mrs. Parillo's homemade bread was also a highlight, along with her tasty Italian dressing on our fresh salads. Additionally, bar service was excellent, thanks to Megan. The restaurant is small, and the bar can be a bit uncomfortable since there’s no footrest when seated, but this is a minor setback given the fantastic food. I frequently travel to Amsterdam and am confident that this will be our go-to restaurant from now on. Best of luck to the Parillo family with your new addition on the south side!

I discovered this restaurant while on my trip, and it was an amazing surprise! The appetizers, especially the house greens, were excellent. The fresh salad came with delicious dressings, and the main courses were enormous and splendid, particularly the gnocchi and eggplant. We also enjoyed a delightful dessert, the chocolate mousse cake. The prices were reasonable, the portions generous, and the food was outstanding. The staff was very friendly as well. I really hope we get the chance to visit this place again soon!

The meatballs were excellent, and the bread and pasta were fresh. The lasagna was quite tasty and featured delicious sausage; however, it could have used more ricotta or cheese to balance the strong yet flavorful sausage. The eggplant parmesan was also very good. I was disappointed that vodka sauce wasn't available on the menu. The pricing was reasonable, and the service was exceptionally friendly — just as it should be when dining out. Although the restaurant is small, it is definitely worth a visit overall.

As part of our dinner, we were served a delicious salad as a starter, and soon after, our main courses arrived. The food was hot, flavorful, and came in generous portions. We ended our meal with homemade desserts, which were delightful as well! Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would recommend L'Ultimo to anyone. We will definitely be returning!
