We arrived without reservations and were greeted by a waitress who seemed dismayed that two more guests were being added to her workload. There were several empty tables for four, but because we were just a couple, we were offered the worst table in the house next to the shelf where the kitchen delivered food. Because of that access, one of us had a view of a blank wall. We were given menus and informed of two items that weren’t available; later, we found the local beer wasn’t available either. The two wait staff communicated fatigue rather than warmth or charm. I started with the seafood chowder (7.95 € which was a generous portion and hearty but the favors didn’t blend as well as other chowders I’ve had in Ireland but my partner was pleased with the soup (6.5 € . He also liked his breaded sole served with chips (17.95 € . It was clearly a better entree than my Hake (19.5 € which was bland and a bit dry. It was served with a salty potato gratin and vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower and a few pieces of carrot which had bern cooked at some point but were served at room temperature. With three beers, the tab was 68.9 €. At that price point, I didn’t expect elegance or gourmet food. Nevertheless, the experience was a bit disappointing.
Fab fish we had calamari, haddock hake real chips tasty salad. Fairly priced. Friendly service. Would definitely return.
This charming restaurant is a hidden gem, serving delicious fresh fish with gluten-free options. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is not only tasty but also elegantly presented. The seafood chowder was exceptional and the service was quick and friendly.
We had dinner at this restaurant and it was absolutely perfect. The calamari and prawn starters were excellent, and the fish and chips and fish tacos for main courses were delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was very efficient. The quality of food served here is exceptional, especially considering the reasonable prices. Overall, a great value for a fantastic dining experience.
Excellent seafood. So fresh. The best seafood I’ve had in Ireland. Banging flavours finally a chef in Ireland who knows how to season food! . Engaging service. Don’t miss this one!
