Trina our waitress steered us toward good drinks and was honest about what she didn’t like. The food was filling and tasty. Sad we could not stay long enough to hear trad music.
What a super place to eat! From the outside it looks like a standard Irish country bar, indeed the menu itself pinned to the screen outside doesn't really give you a clue of how good it is. But when you try to get in and see how busy it is you get your first clue. John, the owner, is completely in control and tries to shoehorn in every prospective customer with a smile and an air of efficiency. The food was fantastic. I had oysters followed by steak and both were delicious. They take vegan/vegetarianism seriously. Unlike many places all chios are fried separately from any meat or fish. The vegan burger was delicious. Service was prompt, they regularly checked I with us for satisfaction and drinks. I would definitely recommend it to vegetarians Nd carnivores alike!
Delicious, fresh oysters and Mike’s fish pie was amazing. We also had a toasted sandwich which was also very good and came with a huge portion of french fries and a small salad. We sat in the covered area right outside overlooking the harbor. Service was excellent.
This is a great pub for food and drink. We stopped in initially on our 1st day to get out of the rain and stayed for an hour or so enjoying fantastically poured Guinness and having great banter with the staff. We went in on our 2nd night for dinner and wine. I had fish and chips and my wife had their Meat Pie. Both were amazing, fresh and very large portion sized. We had lovely white and red wine too and some great laughs with the waiting staff including one of the French waiters! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
