Naung Mai Thai Kitchen - Anacortes

I was not impressed with my first visit to this restaurant. I had high expectations for a great Thai meal, as I live on the San Juan Islands and often crave local, hot, and tasty food. Unfortunately, the panang curry I ordered was watery and lacked flavor. The menu mentioned calcareous sheet, but I could not find any in my dish. There were only a few basil leaves and a small amount of ink fish, which is a relatively cheap protein. Despite requesting the dish to be very spicy and "five star/Thai hot," it was not as spicy as I had hoped. In comparison to the street food in Bangkok, which is my favorite, the fried squid dish lacked flavor and would have been better with a different sauce. My wife enjoyed her fried tofu appetizer, but overall, the meal was disappointing. Additionally, I received a text message saying my order would be ready about an hour after leaving the restaurant, which was frustrating.

Having spent a lot of time on the streets of Bangkok, Thai cuisine is my favorite and I had high expectations. The fried squid appetizer would have been better with a different sauce other than the sweet and sour one that was served. My wife enjoyed her fried tofu appetizer. Additionally, I received a text message saying that my order would be ready about an hour after leaving the restaurant.

Unfortunately, this restaurant is located on a hill. Our last three orders were bland and tasteless, not like the delicious Thai food we had enjoyed before. The number 4 dish lacked flavor and was disappointing compared to the other dishes. I hope they can go back to serving the amazing Thai food they used to offer, because we won't be ordering from here again.

I would give this place 5 stars, but for constantly my order on door the delivery and the blame of the bearer is unacceptable! if they can not fulfill the order that is quite difficult to read this ticket! then maybe they should start to deliver the menu instead of relying on a third party.

This was the best meal we had on our week trip to the area. We went back twice and the food and service was excellent both times. I would definitely recommend and the location and building were excellent! Wish we would have found this sooner!
