This was one of my most favorite parts of our recent Disneyland trip. I made reservations 60 days before (set my alarm to make them at 6 am exactly 60 days before we planned to go cause reservations fill up quick! , and it was exactly what my family and I needed after our first day there and walking 6 miles already. My favorite ride is Pirates of the Caribbean so I'm biased about the atmosphere, love it!, but the food was delicious and the best part was being able to order a glass of wine with dinner since alcohol is scarce at Disneyland. My son had the filet mignon topped with crab, my husband and I ordered the rib eye which was melt in your mouth, my sister ordered the salad with fruit and the chicken gumbo, and her friend ordered the pasta with pistachio pesto and as a vegetarian who has trouble finding things to order normally she was in heaven. A bit of a pricey trip but when you consider $600 including tip for five people, 2 drinks each, an appetizer, entrees and dessert, the atmosphere and the and the waitress was overly generous with the coffee at the end, Id say 100% worth it! Vegetarian options: The pistachio pesto pasta is a great option for vegetarians
The only good thing about this place was the atmosphere, I ordered a salad which was literally a bowl of only tomatos and some vinegar on which was terrible. The pesto pasta had no flavor and everything was insanely priced. Wouldn 't come back or recommend for dinning unless you just want to look around the ride. Our server hardly came and I never got any refills on my drink.
I was so excited that a friend of mine was able to get reservations for us at Blue Bayou. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They also made it pretty clear that they were getting you in and out and quickly as possible. We had the Rosemary Brioche as our appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. My main dish was the Monte Cristo, hers the Crab Cakes. My sandwich was OK. There was a very thick fried section and the meat/cheese inside was nearly non-existent. The crab cakes were dry and seemed to have been reheated. I did have a Cranberry Mint Julep that was delicious. Dietary restrictions: I have many dietary restrictions. Eating here was a challenge but worth the experience again. Next time I would ask about other options to accompany my sandwich as I wasn’t able to eat the salad with Vinegrette and dried apricots or fresh potato chips
We ate at Blue Bayou while visiting Disneyland and it was pretty cool. I remember seeing the tables when I was a little kid riding Pirates of the Caribbean, so I really enjoyed getting to be on the other side of that experience. The food is good but nothing too fantastic. The hush puppies were just okay, but the ribs were good. They have a decent drink menu which is nice. My husband ordered some mixed drinks, and I had a beer. The theme of this restaurant is really nice, and it is awesome that it's a part of the Pirates ride. The only problem is there are a lot of tables and most of them are not near the water. We were lucky that we were only one table back from the water so we could still see people going by, but most everyone else is in the middle of the patio. It is also pretty cramped. The gentleman at the table behind me would bump into my seat occasionally just because we were so close together. You may also be eating at an odd time because the reservations are booked out. We ate at 3 PM. All in all, it is a neat experience but don't expect it to completely live up to your expectations. Kid-friendliness: It is a restaurant at Disneyland. Of course it is kid friendly!
