We usually only come for breakfast on the weekends and sometimes they dont have stuff that's on the menu which can be annoying at most, but they always have delicious food to offer. Sometimes we order ahead to pick up barbacoa and we only have to wait like 10 minutes once we're there to pick up. Never really had a bad customer service experience here so to me because of that and their amazing food, it's a great hole in the wall restaurant for delicious home cooked meals.
Wonderful service, the good is great, I love eating their machetitos, highly recommendable. Las aguas frescas are delicious. Overall, a great experience.
Took a while for the order to get done but the wife said it was worth the wait time. Coming back for more.
So this is an update of previous review, which I have to apologize was a one star. I have to admit that the service was great, the cashier/waitress/kitchen assistant was very attentive and even came to our table to ask if we needed anything else. Unheard of in what I would consider a fast food establishment. Anyway, I tried the 19 machete, yes a 19 taco. All one tortilla, not a bunch of glued or stuck tortillas like other places that do that with tacos and burritos. I had the al pastor. It was good, the taste of the meat, cheese, cream and lettuce all came together. I have to say, there was a little to much fat and nerve endings in the meat for my own personal liking, but not as much as other places. The tortilla was not bad , it held together, although a little hard to cut, but I can see why, if it was thinner it the taco would more than likely break apart and you would have to eat a taco with a fork and knife. BTW, they also have a 29 machete taco. As a novelty for a machete, I can see recommending this place, as a regular taco place, not so sure. It is good to see and eat and give something to talk about. If you think about it, with the size of the machetito and price, i think you are better off getting 4 of their tacos, you will more than likely get about the same about of meet, minus the lettuce, cheese and cream, but you will get more tortilla as they double up on their smaller tacos. Personally, if I come here again, I will order 3-4 of their regular tacos vs the machetito. I think in short, this place maybe was an average taco place that offers what you would expect from a small eatery, tacos, burritos, echiladas, taquitos, etc. Again, the extra star was for the service and flavor.
Had always been curious about this place and I was very surprised that this hole-in-the-wall restaurant isn't more well known. Seems to have recently been remodeled, looks fresh. Hubby ordered the full size machete with 4 meats of his choosing. I went with the huarache. Dang. I already knew the machete would be big (it was 29 , says so on the menu) but that huarache was just as impressive! (See photo). Excellent salsa, cesina, and grilled onions...everything about it was tasty! I didn't even finish half of it! Super large portion (which was good). We will definitely come again...this time to try the taquitos, sopes, and burrito mojado.
