I often come for their Vietnamese coffee but this time was the last one. Since when a medium size coffee cost $6.99 and especially when the display price is $4.20? I was told the prices were updated this month. Looks like a scam now.
The Vietnamese style coffee is strong and it has a good taste. They place is beautiful and it makes me want to go to Vietnam for coffee.
Worst ice cream I've ever had. I made the mistake of ordering an affogato with vanilla ice cream but the ice cream was so gritty and tasted awful like the wooden stick in the middle of a Popsicle or an ice cream bar. Then I got to this weird lump in the middle that wasn't even cold and had the texture of maybe frosting? It was a jaring experience and I tossed it in the nearest trash can. The espresso was decent though. I'm glad they didn't pour it on top of the ice cream so at least I was able to enjoy it separately. I also got a chocolate muffin that was a 2 out of 5. Stick to the coffee.
Never heard of King Coffee in my life, but after perusing the huge store/cafe, I figured out it's a Vietnamese coffee shop. I met friend's here before a concert because they wanted a quick bite to eat and they got a sandwich or I think it was a banh mi. There's a restroom inside and I'm happy to report it's clean. I did order a small Vietnamese coffee and it tasted pretty standard to the other chains I've been to. The vibe in here is empty, cold and not conducive for sitting around and studying or doing work from, I would suggest Starbucks upstairs for that. This is more of a stop-in, get your coffee or beans and go. They have no shortage of coffee beans or products, however if you're not familiar with Vietnamese coffee, I'd say the effects are similar to coke, in that you're super alert, focused and have a lot of energy after consuming the smallest cup of coffee. If you're in the area and need strong coffee, King's the place to go.
