The Houblon Arms - Ancaster

Stayed for a few nights! Rooms are very luxurious! Everything you need from iron to hairdryer. Mini fridge which has alcohol, water and soft drinks. Breakfasts are perfect with amazing service. Evening meals were out of this world!! 5* Food, drinks and service! Good portion sizes! We didn't have the best weather but if you go and it's warm there is an outdoor kitchen so Food and drinks can be cooked and made outside. Very nice quiet village, didn't really explore it to much but no noise in the evenings at all! Your own private hot tub for each room was nice as could chill in there when not doing anything in the evenings. I'd like to say thank you to Vicky and John and the other lady that served us for breakfast, we had an amazing time and really got to know you all well! We will definitely be back! Nearby activities: Definitely take a drive to Lincoln if you have never been. And 5 minutes up the road is Ancaster leisure centre, you have go karting, bowling, paintball, airsoft, archery! This was a work stay as it is 15 minutes from RAF Cranwell. The experience was classy and extremely professional. The room was outstanding, as was the private hottub. I was really looking forward to my stay here, but unfortunately after an awful experience, I cannot recommend The Houblon Arms for female travelers. The staff here have made it clear that unless you are white or accompanied by a male chaperone, you deserve to be harassed during your stay. The peaceful serenity of the English countryside was completely ruined by my experience staying at this hotel. Sadly I cannot recommend it to solo female travelers — please be advised to stay somewhere else.
