Ak Wok - Anchorage

I recently spent $35 on two lunch entrees, and I couldn’t believe they charged an extra $3 just to upgrade to fried rice—what a rip-off! I finished my meal and found myself hungry just five minutes later. The meat was overcooked and burned from sitting in the deep fryer for too long. Although the sauce had a good flavor, the overall food quality was disappointing. The portion sizes were terrible, and while the delivery driver was a nice older gentleman, it really didn’t make up for the subpar food.

I've been ordering the Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, Won Ton Soup, and Crab Rangoon, and everything has been excellent. The delivery is quick; although it usually takes about 45 minutes, it typically arrives in just 25 to 30 minutes. The drivers are always friendly and polite. I've tried other Chinese restaurants in the past, but this one has been the best by far. It's a small restaurant located in Sears Mall, but it outshines many larger and fancier Chinese eateries. It's truly a hidden gem!

I ordered from Grubhub and paid $18.95 for Mongolian beef, plus an additional $2 for a bottle of water. The delivery went smoothly, but when I opened the order, I was shocked by the tiny portion size for $18.95. The dish only contained beef, white onion, and scallions, and my white rice was completely soaked in sauce. I ended up spending $29 for dinner and I'm still hungry. Overall, I wasn’t impressed—I’ve definitely had much better Mongolian beef elsewhere.

I ordered shrimp fried rice to go but when I had already driven to my next destination to eat, I realized they gave me chicken fried rice. Normally I'd check but I was in a rush but I shouldn't really need to check a to go order. I don't eat meat so it was disappointing to have spent $15 on just plain fried rice.

Ordered and payed for food I did not receive. Tiped the driver who just dumped the order off without checking it. Called back to have the items I ordered resent and nobody wanted to or seem interested in correcting their mistake. Refused to give money back but agreed to send the driver back. He never returned with our items that were paid for and not received. Eff us I guess. Food was ok, cheep like their service. I’ll probably go elsewhere since they don’t care about my satisfaction.
