We found this place by accident when driving around Anchorage hungry. We decided to stop. We didn't realize it was cash only till we were inside and ready to order. Luckily we had enough cash. The burger, halibut burger and salmon burgers were all pretty good and decent sized. We didn't leave hungry. If you want a nice sized, decent tasting burger, or want a better priced halibut or salmon burger, then this is a good place for lunch or a quick dinner. Again, though, bring cash.
A tourist guide recommended this place. It is a burger joint and people must like it because they have self serve condiments and pickles, onions, etc., because the beef burger was bad but the "halibut burger was awful. It was not halibut but a bunch of bread crumbs with a hint of something, tuna/halibut/any fish. It was by far the worst halibut burger on the planet. They take your order and then you wait. I saw what looked like our food waiting on the shelf and after about 3-4 minutes of trying to get someones attention as the person who takes it from the shelf to the counter was off filling mustard or something, I finally asked loudly and yup it was our now cold food. How this gets a 4.5 rating is beyond me. They must have a huge family.
My nephew took me here on my trip in June, since it's his favorite restaurant. I had the Halibut burger and it was delicious. Honestly, my favorite thing was their homemade pickles. I just kept going back for more...especially the spicy pickles.
Two locations for great burgers. Proud of their prices as I think it’s an expensive place to eat. Worth trying.
