Chilkoot Charlie's - Anchorage

Love this place! It would be my haunt if I lived here. Last night was comedy and karaoke. Pretty big place with lots of interesting atmosphere, arcade games and such. Big backyard patio with plenty of spots to chill and smoke your cigs.

I spent two great and long nights here in March 2023 (including St. Patrick 's Day). The bar is much bigger than it appears from the outside and every area and room has new surprises you feel like Alice going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. The staff and other guests were always friendly, the live band was great and especially the raspberry beer has kept a place in my heart. I was integrated very nicely as a German visitor and took the memory of this place back with me. If I ever have the chance to return to Alaska, I will definitely stop by again!

My brother rented the Bird House inside of Koots for my Dads 85th birthday. The service was beyond excellent and everyone was so kind and helpful!!!

Koot's is the most famous bar in Anchorage and maybe Alaska. Its history and authentic Alaskan ambiance makes it a must-see.

Great outside deck with tables and cornhole. Old school video games. Fantastic music. Bartender, I did not catch his name, (young, dark hair) was super fun and helpful. Friendly patrons made us feel at home. Highlight of our time in Anchorage.
