Gallo's Mexican - Anchorage

I got this recommendation from my Lyft driver, who is a local. However, I noticed it had very low ratings on Yelp. I really should have trusted my dear Yelp!

On Tuesday the 1st, many restaurants were closed due to a terrible snowstorm, so my business associate and I spontaneously decided to stop by Gallo’s for lunch, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service provided by our server, Jose. He was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and polite. We enjoyed great conversations, and he really went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. The food was fresh, delicious, and served quickly. Although we've been coming to Gallo’s for years, we usually visit when it's very busy, so we rarely get a chance to connect with the servers. The food and service were truly exceptional!

This place never disappoints; it always has the same wonderful vibe whenever we visit. Highly recommended!

After trying their hot salsa, I've decided to buy it from them regularly. Coming from San Antonio, Texas, it's tough to find quality salsa, but I’m thrilled to have found it here. Thank you to the restaurant! The food was delicious, and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the interior. They also serve mangonadas, which is my favorite alcoholic drink from the South. I didn't try one this time, but I plan to do so next time!

Fantastic food! Fantastic staff. 1st are here 17 years ago and after being gone for a decade food and atmosphere haven't changed. My favorite spot!
