Bar food/experience can be better, but sitting service was very bad tonight.
I had the scallops and my man had the black cadjau. both evenings were hardly warm. our appetizer from cocosnusslachs and the blue monkey salad were wonderful!
Our server was great. she was very attentive, listened to our demands and was accommodating. Simons was once one of the most beautiful restaurants to visit, but the quality of food, the amount of food and presentation have changed much in the course of the years. eating has become more average. the size of the portions is less, quality is not as good as before. the atmosphere and the view are great, but we feel simons no more than good restaurant with good quality.
We simply start with the front of the house. excellent reception and inviting spirit. there are no problems keeping the hosts at the table. as soon as we were presented at our table, the dinge changed dramatically. I'm not sure what she was thinking, but there was clearly a feeling not to be there, and little care for her job. we ordered cocktails and as soon as they arrived that one of them arrived in a dirty glass, and I don't speak with watermark dirty, I speak fingerprints (picking like fat fingerprints.) we have made many pictures. When we pointed out about 7 minutes later when we decided to check ourselves after receiving our drinks, I mentioned it to her. She was disturbed and when we said it was fingerprints, she said: "oh, I see it is not polished". there were no watermarks.... each time she took it back and replaced it. When the new drink arrived, I would probably be wrong to say that they simply transfer the same drink to a new glass, rough. The difference was that this time the one came to an extra garnel that was not on the first, an orange dish. my friend swore, it was also different and thought it was a completely different drink. I brought this to my guess that it was the same dirty drink in another glass, but cathleen was quick to correct me in a strict fashion. Maybe it was the same drink. I'm sure she'll remember this comment. the food was not better, I ordered the grilled salmon plate on a medium-sized rare boil, (which was suggested by them, who,) I went with him as I enjoy my salmon on the butter side. when it arrived, it was definitiw not cooked at the right temperature, and it was clear overcooked. it was hard and dry, and honestly not so pleasant to eat. with the way the dinge were in an effort to leave the place I just boxed so I could show it more accurately with pictures. I'm sorry I ordered the rehearsal remover, everything was good except the meat.
The food was served lukewarm to cold. The salmon was not warm at all. Mashed potatoes were not the typical quality received in previous dining experiences. Overall service was slower than expected given the fact that the dining room was not full.
