Tequila 61° - Anchorage

I had a wonderful experience at this charming restaurant! The decor blends a fun and modern Mexican fusion style that really stands out. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding—I honestly didn't expect much from a Mexican restaurant in Alaska, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up indulging far more than I intended because I wanted to try so many different dishes. Everything was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. I would certainly love to go back!

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening in September. There were plenty of open tables, and the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet. The service was top-notch, with the waitstaff being knowledgeable and able to address all of our inquiries. The Goat Cheese Balls were exceptional! They had a slight kick of heat that was perfectly complemented by the honey drizzled on top—truly one of the best appetizers I've ever enjoyed. The Rockfish tacos had a firm texture and a hint of spiciness in the slaw. While I would have preferred a creamy sauce to go with the tacos, I would definitely order them again. Overall, it was a fantastic value for the price.

I had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary serving of chips and salsa, courtesy of a coupon from a local publication. The salsa had a pleasant kick to it, without being too spicy. I highly recommend the Chicken Al Pastor tacos—they were fantastic! The rice and beans were also delicious, though they did come with an additional charge of $5.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the restaurant. The tacos were flavorful, but they didn’t have any distinctive features to distinguish them from standard options. The variety of cocktails, tequila, and mezcal was quite impressive. Although the service was friendly, I felt it could have been a little more attentive than it was.

The bartender was rather inattentive during our visit. We only received one drink, and he didn’t come back to check on us. I had some questions about tequila, but he seemed rather unapproachable. The bar wasn’t busy at all. When we arrived, the server/hostess appeared to question us, even though she had confirmed that it was open seating. While she did apologize and was friendly, the overall experience felt somewhat awkward. On a positive note, the drink I ordered was fantastic, and the tacos were absolutely delicious.
