This place has a lot going for it but much to be desired. We arrived on the quiet weekend which is thankful since my first issue are the lack of sound barriers. There was no one in the room next to us but you could still hear people in the hallway and talking loudly in their rooms since the doors to the rooms are very thin and the same goes for the doors to the bathroom. The rooms themselves are fine. There are a number of channels available on the TV surprisingly even the Japanese channel NHK but the bed is stiff and quite creaky. My biggest issue was that there was no space to store things outside three tiny shelfs and that the windows were not seal proof which was not the best both in terms of temperature and sealing the room from bugs entering. Now in terms of the bathroom while I appreciate the shower and ease of accessing hot water I was again not a fan of the super thin and loud to close door. I seriously recommend you bring hand soup, shampoo, and even your own towel as all you are provided with is a basic bar of soup as well as baby wipes since you are discouraged from flushing toilet paper. In general I would honestly recommend not sharing a room if possible due to the cramped nature of the rooms and loud bathroom door. Outside of this the hotel by car is super close and I appreciate how easy it is to access the nearby waterfall by foot but its definitely by no means at the heart the town and the road leading to it is unpaved. The highlight of the hotel for me was really the restaurant. We had a breakfast and dinner package and found it was really worth our money with the food being not too much nor too little in filling us up while still being delicious. Furthermore the hotel's staff was extremely courteous and professional in assisting us with our needs and answering our questions.
Stayed 3 nights. Simple, clean, comfortable rooms located in a beautiful spot a short walking distance from town. Restaurant serves good food. Owners/hosts are friendly and helpful. One of the best options if you are looking for a place in Jardín.
For the price (200,000 COP a night for 2 people 2 meals a day) this place was great! Located about 15min walk from the plaza (we took tuk tuk from plaza to the hotel as it was uphill 5mil, and walked into town as it was downhill) it is a little remote but we loved being more out in the nature. The rooms are spartan basic, no luxuries when it comes to mattress or pillows. But it is perfectly fine for one or two nights. If you are like me and must have moving fresh air in your room, ask for a room with a window to outside as some are internal rooms. Fans are available upon request. It is fresh at night but we still had a fan running. We didn't take advantage of the meals except for the 1 lunch but the food was of great quality and sufficient portions so if you don't want to spend too much money eating out, this is definitely a great option. The staff are kind and attentive to your needs. Introduced us to a new fruit called gurupa which we absolutely loved as a juice at their lunch and then they recommended that we go to Cafe Macanas in the plaza and try their gurupa smoothie to die for!
We arrived late in the evening and was greeted by the friendliest night manager you’re likely to meet. He had great English too which was a welcome treat for Colombia. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel grounds are outstanding. The breakfast was tasty and substantial. The local town Jardin is a short walk away making this hotel a great affordable option.
