Vintners Grill - ANGASTON

I went to a 50th birthday celebration with my family, but the staff hardly acknowledged the occasion, despite the large balloons on the table. The food was nice, but we had to wait an hour and a half for it, and we didn’t receive any apology for the delay. This also affected our pre-arranged wine tour. The customer service definitely needs improvement.

Surprisingly, we had never visited this restaurant despite hearing great things about it for a long time. We finally went with a gift voucher from friends. There were four of us, and our experience met the high standards of a fine dining establishment. The tables were well spaced, and the chairs were comfortable. The service was excellent and very knowledgeable, and the food was of high quality, presented beautifully without feeling rushed. We also enjoyed a lovely view of the gardens at sunset. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for a special dinner (or lunch, if that's more your style).

What an incredible surprise! This place is a true hidden gem. The staff were absolutely fantastic—full of energy, passionate, and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The sardine starter was bursting with flavor and made for a perfect beginning. The scallops and bouillabaisse were simply stunning. If you're in the beautiful Barossa Valley, this is definitely a must-visit!

Starting this review before dessert that 's how confident I am of this place deserving a 5/5. Every dish we ordered was perfectly balanced and full of flavour, including mushroom salad, steak tartare, duck and sirloin. The latter two had amazing sticky, sweet, complex sauces and the duck had a red cabbage with the dish that just enhanced every bite. The tartare was their own interpretation normally a sign of a disaster waiting to happen but I was not disappointed one bit. The cruchy elements of this dish just made it one to remember. This place came as a recommendation to me by a fellow foodie as something special and so I pass these words on to you.
