L’Agape - Angoulême

Good value, though very limited set menu at €17.50 Supplements on most things. Foie gras delicious, but why a duck burger ? Didn't need the bread. We ordered the local Rose, we didn't get it and the one we got wasn't great, should have complained Service Good on a busy lunch

This is a new one for me as I know Angoulême quite well. It is rather small but not cramped, and the food is excellent, service very good and friendly. Will definitely add this to the list to go again.

Unusual for France on a weekend the very well prices fixed menu was available -E 19 complete, a worthwhile temptation of foire gras for an extra couple of euros supplement. Good choices enabled my wife to favour fish where I had a fusion pork dish with noodles, all excellent.

Don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed the food here but there’s definitely something lacking. We sat upstairs originally but it was quite a warm stuffy room lacking in any interest or atmosphere and devoid of staff so we decided to sit downstairs instead which was better. Service was much better downstairs and both the food and wine were very nice. We both had the lamb which was very tasty and a decent size for fine dining however the accompanied vegetables and polenta were disappointingly extremely bland?? I was expecting more than a steamed french bean (yes one), tiny cauliflower and broccoli floret and 3 tiny slices of carrot all bland? Shame really as the lamb and starter were excellent. Overall a good meal but definitely lacking in atmosphere, maybe better if there’s a few of you.

Troisième visite depuis que ce jeune couple a repris le restaurant à Angouleme il y a un an et à chaque fois toujours un agréable moment.J'ai toujours pris la formule du jour entrée plat dessert à 19 euros et donc très bon rapport qualité prix...c'est bien présenté , c'est délicieux, accueil sympathique ...N'hésitez pas !
