I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor, and I recommend to other users. I had the chirashi (13 euros) and a Japanese wheat beer (Coedo, I think) and it was a complete meal for me. The chirashi comes with a miso soup and a bowl of tangy coleslaw. The main dish is smoked salmon on sticky rice. The salmon was top quality and the rice was fresh and tasty. Perfect for tourists and travelers.
Having eaten often at Sushi H in the past I am delighted to see the young couple who owned it have now sold the old restaurant and renovated much larger premises. New improved Sushi H is light, airy and although larger has intimate little nests of tables on the ground floor. Upstairs the conservatory floor is light, with stunning views over the city and I am sure the hard work renovating the building will be worth it as it truly is s great place to eat. It appears to have hit the spot for families, workers looking fir a quick lunch, romantic evenings and for ladies who lunch or want to eat, drink and escape from the ironing! Last evening was the official opening party with approx 200 guests and the champagne and food flowed as everyone laughed and tried new recipes. It was a great success and I wish them all the luck in the world with their new venture because they truly deserve it. I am already planning my next evening there or maybe will grapple a takeaway for a change after work when I can't be bothered to cook. It's not expensive, freshly prepared and I don't think I can recommend it highly enough, so check it out for yourself.
I have been going to eat at Sushi H for several years. The ambience deco make it ideal for a cosy meal with friends, a romantic evening with my boyfriend or just a quick thankyou lunch for my neighbours. (Both in their 70 's French not ones to try foreign food Jean now refuses to go to another restaurant in Angouleme so I take them to Sushi H regularly. I have also had a special meal there with colleagues. The friendly, young, Chinese owners work hard to give good service, quality food sensible prices making it an ideal place for everyone. They are even taking English lessons to help with their many international clients! If I am going to be late in the evening and want a no fuss or work meal it 's easy to order a takeaway, pick it up and sit down in no time to a good, tasty dinner with no washing up. I sometimes fancy a change or am in the city centre so head to their Chinese restaurant and my friend lady Catherine always picks this spot for the lovely atmosphere and because it 's close to her home. At the end of the year Lina and her husband are moving Sushi H to a new, larger venue just a short distance away and with terraces, a special corner for takeaways and more seating it 's bound to be a special place and I am looking forward to going to try it out once the extensive renovations are complete. With so many festivals held in Angouleme you can even book a room to stay in their just finished letting accomodation, making this truly an ideal one stop shop for anyone in the area for weekends or on business. I cannot recommend Sushi H more highly and wish Lina and her husband well in their new venture. They work tirelessly to maintain high standards and I am in fact having lunch at Sushi H on Saturday after my lesson as an english teacher. It saves me time and effort and I love their tempura prawns with a good glass of Bordeaux to welcome the weekend whilst no doubt my boyfriend will be in full nem and brochette mode because he loves the variety of flavours. I suggest you give it a try soon I know you won 't be disappointed.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Fresh, a huge choice, plenty to eat and reasonable prices. You can't go wrong if you choose to eat here.
