The seats we got overlooked the garden one side and the roaring flames of the open fire grill the other where we could see steaks being seared before our eyes. They specialise in pasta (the carbonara was very good) and grilled meat and my girlfriends entrecote was cooked to perfection. The wine list is regional but the dry white was very good and it was reasonably priced so all in all a great impromptu dinner.
We arrived without a reservation, just as the rain did and were lucky to get the last table, quite close to the roaring indoor barbecue where many of the meals were prepared (providing spectator sport throughout). As all the French language reviews indicate, this restaurant serves proper food from the south west.... lots of duck, beef and seafood (and duck hearts, gizzards, and foi gras for those who want to try it). We mixed things up.... Some local, but also a gorgeous toasted goats cheese salad, a beef skewer and a large entrecôte steak all accompanied by a thoroughly decent bottle of local red wine (a snip at 15 euros). The staff were really interested and helpful (it's far enough from the beaten track for British visitors to be a bit of a novelty). Overall, we paid just over 80 euros for 2 hearty courses, expertly prepared, with wine and coffee and a feeling of being in authentic SW France. Lovely merci.
Food is really average, nothing to talk about. The service and the staff are really welcoming, friendly and nice. They should improve the taste of food instead of quantity.
Came in a big group, and enjoyed a fixed menu special made for us. Good food from Les Landes. Looking forward to return with my husband to try other dishes.
Very good cuisine, charming bosses and personals and very attentive. a gourmet stop to not miss. Trying it is adopting it!
