This place was great! The food was a perfect amount and the eggs were very good. The staff working there was very nice, and set a good tone for the rest of our meal. The service was very good and our waiter kept checking on us! Overall it was a great experience.
Hidden gem well worth the side trip from I-80. Lots of breakfast choices!
What an amazing and friendly cafe in Anita, IA. It must be the epicenter for Anita. The customers were even friendly. I searched for breakfast places, as I was driving on I-80, and Google Maps led me here. The irony is that I was in Iowa storm chasing, and I ate at a place called The Weather Vane. Please stop here on your travels. There's some local Jesse James history near-by too.
Was in need of a place to eat as we were heading back to WI. Wanted a hole in the wall type place since what's always advertised on the highway is the same plain Jane places. Came here and was NOT disappointed. Husband had the country skillet and I had the veggie (both with rye toast). One of the best skillets I have ever had. Filling and so well seasoned. Coffee was typical diner coffee but better than most so you'll be kept happy in my opinion. 10/10 recommend.
